Justin Derman is a multi-faceted performer and educator.
He sustains balance between theater and concert venues.
Mr. Derman has performed in pit orchestras for various shows in the metro area. He has presented lectures at MENC in percussion.
He performs many styles of music including Jazz, Pop, Latin and World.
Justin holds a Master degree in Music Education and studied under Charles Tapin,
Les De Merle, Freddy Waits
and renowned educator Al Harwood.
He is currently the band director in the Berkeley Heights school district where he has taught for the past 17 years. Justin also wrote for many High School drum lines including Middletown, Metuchen and Hightstown.
Justin Has performed and toured through the west coast with guitarist Larry Coryell and Laurence Juber from Paul McCartney, other performers include Billy J. Kramer.
Justin is a sought after theater musician, accompanying over 30 different musicals.
His performance credits include orchestra percussion, contemporary music,
world music and drum set experience.
Justin performs frequently with his Jazz Trio and Steel Pan Ensemble while teaching privately and in public school.
